STAGE: SS2 Terranova 1           DISTANCE: 14,19km
WEATHER: Sunny
ROAD CONDITIONS: Dry
Car #69 K. Rovanpera – J. Halttunen (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1): “It was quite slippery as expected. Difficult conditions to be first on the road. I do not know what else we can do. A few small mistakes at the beginning but other than that we did the best we could”
Car #11 T. Neuville – M.Wydaeghe (Hyundai i20 N Rally1):”There is no visibility at all. We lost 10-15s in the dust. I had to slow down completely. It was known before. We mentioned it to the FIA, and to the organizers before the rally, we had dust in the recce with 2-3 minutes gaps. Live TV, itinerary, everything is so tight, every year it is the shame. It is a shame but for the driver is really really dangerous” [he found hanging dust]
Car #18 T. Katsuta – D. Barritt (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1): “Grip is low as always, but the problem is that we can not anything because of dust. I do not know why they do not put 4 minutes gap like in Portugal. It is not really nice and quite dangerous to be honest”
Car #8 O. Tänak – M. Järveoja (Hyundai i20 N Rally1): “The visibility is until the bonnet. This stage is a killer for this at the moment. It is very challenging at the moment”
Car #33 E. Evans – S. Martin (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1): “I do not know [where I found the time compared to the others] I could not see a lot, for most of it. It was really bad. Every year it is the same”
Car #42 C. Breen – P. Nagle (Ford Puma Rally1):”I can’t see. I stopped every 5-600 meters. I was putting the car off the road in places because there was a wall of dust in front of me. Absolutely nothing I could do”
Car #44 G. Greensmith – C. Patterson (Ford Puma Rally1): ”I could not see anything. I could have tried harder in the dust for sure. But the plan for the weekend is to get points, it would have been so easy to take a wheel off by going slightly wide so yeah”
Car #6 D. Sordo – C. Carrera (Hyundai i20 N Rally1): “You cannot see anything. It is all dusty from the beginning. Very slippery also with these tyres, all wrong. But it is OK. With the dust like this, it is difficult, but it is like it is”
Car #4 E. Lappi – J. Ferm (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1): “It would be OK to push, but when you cannot see I just back off. It is so easy to hit something. Just safely through”
Car #7 P.L. Loubet – V. Landais (Ford Puma Rally1): “I do not know [how I did it]. I managed it. Quite tricky. We do step by step, let’s see if we can do more in the second loop” [P2 0.8s off Evans!]
Car #16 A. Fourmaux – A. Coria (Ford Puma Rally1): “I am not surprised [by the time] if you look at the dust in the stage. Nothing we can do, you just have to be careful because it is dangerous, it is narrow in some places you can just be a few meters to the left and hit a tree”.
Car #22 T. Suninen – M. Markkula (Hyundai i20 N): “It was s**t. Two minutes gap and I could not see anything. The big cars are lifting the dust a lot with the big wings and we are getting 2 minutes! That is not rallying for me”
Car #21 N. Gryazin – K. Aleksandrov (Skoda Fabia Evo): “Not easy at all. I remember from last year there was some dust but this year there is a lot more dust. Where it is a long straight is OK, but where it is narrow and there are stones it is easy to hit something. I struggled. It is really really difficult”.

Car #20 A. Mikkelsen – T. Eriksen (Skoda Fabia Evo): “I felt I was really careful. I do not know why they are so slow!” [fastest of Rally2]

Car #25 Y. Rossel – V. Sarreaud (Citroen C3): “The visibility is just crazy, so dangerous. Clean run from me. I drove fast only when the visibility was good, we will see”

Car #27 J. Huttunen – M. Lukka (Ford Fiesta MKII Rally2): “Not so easy. There is so much dust, it is difficult to see anything”

Car #23 M. Bulacia – M. Der Ohannesian (Skoda Fabia Evo): “It was very tricky because of the dust, but we kook it safely. The time is not so bad, I am happy to be at the end of this one. It is a shame for the dust because we could not enjoy it”
